Seth è un aspirante mago della regione di Pompo Hills. Come tutti i maghi è un “infetto”, un essere molto raro che è riuscito a sopravvivere al contatto con un Nemesis, delle creature cadute dal cielo che hanno contaminato e ucciso quasi tutti coloro che han toccato. La sua apparente immunità al tocco del Nemesis gli ha fatto comprendere che il suo destino è ormai segnato: deve diventare un cacciatore di taglie e combattere i Nemesis. Tuttavia il suo obiettivo non è solo cacciare questi terribili mostri, ma anche quello di trovare il Radiant, quella che si crede possa essere la tana dei Nemesis. Insieme ad altri maghi percorrerà il mondo alla ricerca del Radiant, stando continuamente attento a fuggire dall’Inquisizione o da qualsiasi ostacolo si ponga sulla sua strada.

Hiccup ha preso il posto del padre Stoyck come leader di Berk, nonostante del leader debba ancora trovare la stoffa, mentre Sdentato è il nuovo Alfa, il drago da cui tutti gli altri draghi si lasciano guidare. Uomini e draghi convivono, dunque, felicemente e scomodamente, ma l'utopia ha i giorni contati: Grimmel il Grifagno, assetato killer di Furie Buie, è sulle tracce di Sdentato e ha stretto un patto con i nemici di Hiccup promettendo loro di riportare in gabbia ogni drago in libertà. Non resta che partire, lasciare la propria terra, alla ricerca di quel mondo nascosto di cui vaneggiava Stoyck, per scoprire se si tratti davvero del paradiso dei draghi o soltanto di una leggenda da marinai.

Red e Mandy vivono soli in una casa nel bosco. La loro tranquilla vita familiare viene sconvolta quando, durante una passeggiata nella foresta, Mandy viene notata da Jeremiah, l'inquietante leader di una setta deviata di cultisti. Deciso a trattenere la ragazza nella setta, l'uomo ne organizza il rapimento. Earl Stone, un uomo di circa 80 anni rimasto solo e al verde, è costretto ad affrontare la chiusura anticipata della sua impresa, quando gli viene offerto un lavoro per cui è richiesta la sola abilità di saper guidare un auto. Compito semplice, ma, ciò che Earl non sa è che ha appena accettato di diventare un corriere della droga di un cartello messicano. Nel suo nuovo lavoro è bravo, così bravo che il suo carico diventa di volta in volta più grande e per questo motivo gli viene assegnato un assistente. Questi non è però l'unico a tenere d'occhio Earl: il misterioso nuovo "mulo" della droga è finito anche nel radar dell'efficiente agente della DEA, Colin Bates. E anche se i suoi problemi di natura finanziaria appartengono ormai al passato, i suoi errori affiorano e si fanno pesanti nella testa, portandolo a domandarsi se riuscirà a porvi rimedio prima che venga beccato dalla legge... o addirittura da qualcuno del cartello stesso.
