Galizia, fine degli anni ‘40, Marina Quiroga, una coraggiosa giovane donna dell’alta società con uno spirito da poliziotta, con l’aiuto del suo fidato maggiordomo Hector (Jean Reno), va alla ricerca del serial killer che sta terrorizzando la città da mesi. Hector è un uomo discreto e disponibile, la cui sensibilità e audacia lo portano sempre a raggiungere il punto di svolta dell’investigazione. Insieme a lui Marina cercherà di superare tutti gli ostacoli per arrivare all’obiettivo e né i pregiudizi di genere del tempo, né la resistenza del nuovo commissario, e tantomeno i tentativi di sua madre di farla sposare la fermeranno dal cercare la verità.
