La serie è incentrata su Sage Odom, leggendario fondatore della famosa High Water Performing Art School di Atlanta. Collette è la regina della scuola e partner di Sage Odom nel ballo, negli affari e in amore. La donna ha costruito e seguito da zero la visionaria accademia di Sage, raggiungendo la vetta con grinta e intraprendenza, guadagnandosi un nuovo ruolo: quello di manager di Sage Odom e del suo tour. Il tutto nascondendo un oscuro segreto. Ma quando questo segreto inizia ad avere ripercussioni su Sage, sulla High Water e sul tour, Collette comincia a considerare l'opportunità di abbandonare il ruolo della donna che sta dietro a un uomo, per diventare una donna potente, col suo uomo alle spalle.
