Trama:
Il dottor Marrow, affascinato da quello che si racconta su Hill House, con il pretesto di condurre delle ricerche scientifiche sui distrurbi del sonno raduna nella dimora tre giovani. Theo, una ricercatrice apparentemente sicura di sé, Nell che dimostra di avere particolare doti di sensitiva e il cinico Luke che non crede agli esperimenti che sta conducendo il dottore. Quando i fantasmi cominciano a fare capolino, il terrore non risparmia nessuno.
