Trama:
A John Klein, cronista del "Washington Post", la moglie Mary confessa in punto di morte di aver visto uno strano essere. Due anni dopo, la stessa creatura appare ad alcuni abitanti di Port Pleasant in Virginia, che a causa dell'orrida esperienza perdono la vita. In breve tempo si susseguono le visioni e aumentano i cadaveri. Prima di morire, le vittime descrivono le caratteristiche dello spettro: ha uno sguardo agghiacciante ed enormi ali.
