Trama:
Tom Sanders, responsabile del settore produzione della Digicom, azienda leader nell'informatica, invece di ricevere la promozione a vice presidente viene soppiantato da Meredith Johnson, con la quale un tempo ha avuto una focosa relazione. Costei lo invita la sera a discutere di alcuni inspiegabili difetti di fabbricazione dei computer progettati da Tom: durante il colloquio Meredith in memoria dei vecchi tempi coinvolge Tom in un rapporto sessuale che egli, a disagio, interrompe causando l'ira della donna, che l'indomani lo accusa di molestie sessuali ed inizia a boicottarlo, spalleggiata dal direttore generale, Bob Garvin. Un misterioso "amico" gli invia messaggi sul computer, inviandolo a diffidare di tutti, mentre egli che inizialmente nasconde l'episodio alla moglie, si rivolge all'avvocatessa Catherine Alvarez per denunciare la Johnson per molestie.
