Trama:
Nell'anno 2054, a Washington, l'omicidio è stato eliminato. Si prevede il futuro e il colpevole può essere punito prima ancora che il crimine sia commesso. In una sezione particolare del Dipartimento della Giustizia, l'Unità Pre-Crimine, i Pre-Cogs, tre giovani veggenti che vivono in una camera di sospensione liquida e le cui premonizioni di omicidio non hanno mai sbagliato, riescono a vedere ogni traccia di reato da immagini che svelano il tempo, il luogo e altri dettagli e che rimandano su video. E' la forza anticrimine più forte di tutto il paese, un sistema perfetto, e nessuno lavora di più del capo di questo dipartimento, il Comandante John Anderton. Distrutto da una tragica perdita, Anderton si è buttato anima e corpo in questo sistema che potenzialmente potrebbe salvare centinaia di persone dalla tragedia che lui stesso ha vissuto. Anderton non ha motivi di dubitarne...
