Trama
Naota è un ragazzino timido e introverso, il cui fratello è partito per l’America per giocare a baseball, lasciando in Giappone la sua ragazza, Mamimi. Quest’ultima si attacca molto a Naota, con cui sviluppa un rapporto abbastanza strano, si diverte a istigarlo e provocarlo, ma in fondo gli è davvero affezionata. La città in cui vivono è sovrastata da un’immensa costruzione a forma di ferro da stiro, che a determinate ore rilascia gigantesche nuvole di vapore. “Nella città non accade mai nulla, soltanto l’ordinario”, ma l’entrata in scena di Haruto è tutt’altro che ordinaria. A bordo della sua vespa investe Naota e, al posto di soccorrerlo, torna indietro e lo colpisce con la sua terribile chitarra elettrica in testa. Gli spunta sulla fronte uno strano bernoccolo, che cresce sempre di più fintanto che da esso ne fuoriesce un robot, Canti, che da quel giorno vivrà con lui.
