Sviluppato da High Moon Studios (responsabili di The Bourne Conspiracy), il gioco in questione si intitola Transformers: War for Cybertron. La storia è ambientata sul pianeta natale dei robot trasformabili e racconta gli eventi che hanno portato i vari protagonisti sulla Terra.

Il gioco si presenta innovativo sotto alcuni aspetti, in particolare per quanto riguarda lo sviluppo della trama, che presenta due storie diverse e parallele coprendo tutti gli eventi relativi agli Autobot e quelli invece con protagonisti i Decepticon. Inoltre, presentandosi sotto la loro forma originale di Cybertron i protagonisti avranno un aspetto un po' diverso dal solito, così come molto diversa dal solito sarà l'ambientazione circostante.
