David Banner è uno scienziato che lavora per l'esercito ad un progetto per la rigenerazione dei tessuti. Ostacolato nelle sue ricerche, è costretto a farsi da cavia, iniettandosi un siero che lo modifica geneticamente. Gli effetti rimangono latenti in lui ma si trasferiscono nel corredo genetico di suo figlio Bruce. Allontanato dal padre in tenera età, Bruce diviene a sua volta un eminente biologo. In seguito ad un incidente in laboratorio, a causa di una sovraesposizione ai raggi gamma, la "diversità" di Bruce esplode in tutta la sua ferocia, trasformandolo in una creatura verde dotata di una forza incredibile che cresce esponenzialmente col crescere della sua rabbia. Il generale Ross schiera un esercito contro di lui, ma solo sua figlia Betty, collega e fidanzata di Bruce, è capace di fermarlo: la dolcezza è l'unico modo di calmare il mostro e farlo ritornare uomo.

Ma quando scopre che il sovrano è assente da molti mesi e che la città presso cui avrebbe dovuto installare il sistema di teleconferenze non è altro che un cantiere a cielo aperto nel deserto, inizierà per Alan un viaggio fatto di attese e scoperte negli usi e costumi di una realtà così differente dalla sua, trasformando il viaggio in un’esperienza culturale straordinaria

Prima che i motociclisti ripartano Cartman si rivolge loro chiamandoli froci che si vestono in modo strano e fanno casino perché hanno bisogno di attenzioni come delle ragazzine di sedici anni. I motociclisti non si rendono davvero conto di essere stati insultati perché arrivano alla conclusione che Eric è stato l'unico ad essersi lamentato e ad averli disprezzati. Tuttavia, mentre percorrono rumorosamente le strade di South Park per allontanarsi, anche il piccolo Ike e altri bambini della città li chiamano con quell'epiteto. Ogni stagione racconta una storia autoconclusiva legata al genere horror, esplorando argomenti e sottogeneri come lo slasher, la casa infestata dagli spettri, la stregoneria, il satanismo, il manicomio e persino l’elezione presidenziale del 2016. Il cast rimane parzialmente invariato ogni anno, dando agli attori la possibilità di interpretare più ruoli. Anche se ogni ciclo di episodi è tecnicamente a sé stante, personaggi di una stagione specifica possono apparire in un’altra, dato che tutte le storie si svolgono nel medesimo universo. La famiglia protagonista del cartone è la dissacrante rappresentazione della tipica American way of life. Le loro vicende sono fuori dalla realtà, con continui flashback in vari punti della storia che esplicano i comportamenti dei personaggi. Le trame degli episodi molto spesso non seguono un senso logico, ma sono sempre dotate di una forte vena umoristico-demenziale, l'inserimento, con il passare delle stagioni, di nuovi personaggi, ha ulteriormente scavato in questo punto, riuscendo nell'intento di far guadagnare alla serie una popolarità smisurata.
