I due si scontrano e si incontrano fino a quando nasce un rapporto che è cementato anche dalla comune volontà di realizzare i propri sogni e quindi dal sostegno reciproco. Ambientato nei ruggenti anni ’20 quando il proibizionismo non riesce a fermare il fiume d’alcool che invade gli speakeasy della mala. Chiunque con abbastanza ambizione e nervi saldi ha l’opportunità di ottenere rapidamente potere e denaro e così Joe Coughlin, il figlio di un commissario della Polizia di Boston, da tempo ha voltato le spalle alla sua rigida educazione per diventare un fuorilegge. Però perfino tra i criminali esistono delle regole e Joe infrange la più grande: incrocia il suo cammino con un potente boss, rubandogli soldi e donna. Max ha quattro zampe e vive a New York con Katie, la vivace padroncina che lo ha "adottato" e strappato alla strada. Espansivo e fedele, passa la giornata ad aspettarla perché come ogni altro essere umano Katie ogni mattina infila la porta e se ne va. A fare cosa è domanda su cui si interrogano Max e i suoi amici di condominio: gatti, cani, criceti, pappagalli, canarini, rapaci. Una sera Katie rientra accompagnata da Duke, un enorme cane peloso a cui ha deciso di dare affetto e asilo. Ma Max non sembra pensarla allo stesso modo. La rivalità per vincere il cuore di Katie li conduce letteralmente in un vicolo cieco, braccati da una gang di animali sciolti guidati da un coniglietto sociopatico.

Avendo individuato in Callum l'ultimo discendente dell'andaluso Aguilar de Nerha, vissuto nella Spagna del XV secolo, la Abstergo vuole costringerlo a rivivere i propri ricordi ancestrali, attraverso un futuristico macchinario denominato Animus, e a mettere così i Templari sulle tracce della smarrita mela dell'Eden, la reliquia in grado di controllare il libero arbitrio. Callum scopre in questo modo di appartenere all'antica Confraternita degli Assassini, che lotta da millenni contro i Templari per assicurare al mondo libertà e giustizia.

Kazuya Kagami wakes up in class from a bad dream to discover that he is inadvertently groping classmate Chisato Chikaishi's breasts. After escaping her wrath, Kazuya goes to the roof where he takes comfort in his mother's obi. Kazuya is attacked by a possessed wig and falls off the building, but is saved by his obi. From within the obi, a young girl, a tsukumogami, emerges. They are met by the host of the wig. The tsukumogami asks the host to sever their link with the wig, which the tsukumogami calls an amasogi or curse. However, the host and wig attack and the tsukumogami is forced to destroy the wig before disappearing. At home, Kazuya reflects on the day's events before falling asleep. After another nightmare, he wakes to find the tsukumogami in his bed. After avoiding a confrontation with Kazuya's possessive sister, the tsukumogami introduces herself as Kiriha and that she the tsukumogami of Kazuya's obi and that Kazuya is now her servant. 1: The Scent of Cherry Blossoms

Una volta le cicogne consegnavano bambini, ma non era un buon business. Ora consegnano di tutto, tramite una compagnia di vendita al dettaglio ricevono ordini e consegnano pacchi contenenti, beni di consumo ordinari. Nel loro quartier generale sono organizzati come una compagnia moderna, ma l'unico ingranaggio fuori posto è una neonata mai consegnata, oggi adulta e non inserita nel sistema di produzione. Proprio lei per errore riattiverà il macchinario per la consegna dei bambini e dovrà quindi, assieme al membro più in ascesa del gruppo, consegnare l'ultimo bebè.
