Hold the Dark, il film diretto da Jeremy Saulnier, è un avvincente thriller psicologico, che vede protagonista Russell Core (Jeffrey Wright), naturalista in pensione, esperto del comportamento dei lupi. L'uomo parte per l'Alaska, con l'incarico di ritrovare il figlio di una donna, convinta che il suo piccolo sia stato rapito da un branco di lupi. Il ritorno del marito della donna, partito in guerra, complicherà le cose e Core si ritroverà coinvolto in un inquietante mistero.
