Sono passati due anni e Larry Dailey (Ben Stiller) ha lasciato il museo di Storia Naturale, dove lavorava come guardiano notturno, ed è entrato nel mondo degli affari diventando un importante imprenditore. Durante una visita al museo scopre che tutte le ricostruzioni, tranne alcune più popolari quali Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Rexy lo scheletro del T-rex e la tavola d'oro del faraone Ahkmenrah, saranno sostituiti con degli ologrammi. In seguito Larry riceverà una allarmante richiesta di aiuto da parte di Jedediah (Owen Wilson) il quale, insieme alle altre figure del vecchio museo, sta resistendo contro il fratello maggiore del faraone incontrato nel primo episodio che si è risvegliato, insieme a tutti i personaggi trasferiti e all'intero museo "più grande del mondo" grazie ad uno scherzo di una simpatica scimmietta cappuccina..

Il film racconta le disavventure che si verificano ogni notte al Museo Americano di Storia Naturale quando il sole tramonta. Il lavoro estivo di Nick Daley come guardiano notturno del museo è un impiego impegnativo per uno studente delle superiori, ma il ragazzo sta seguendo le orme del padre ed è determinato a non deluderlo. Fortunatamente, conosce l’antica tavoletta del museo che dà vita a tutto quando il sole tramonta ed è felice di rivedere al suo arrivo i suoi vecchi amici, tra cui Jedediah, Octavius e Sacagawea. Ma quando il sovrano Kahmunrah fugge con lo scopo di riaprire il mondo sotterraneo e liberare l’Esercito dei Morti, spetta a Nick fermare il folle imperatore e salvare il museo una volta per tutte.

Milano, giorni nostri. Marco, ingegnere, e Anna, architetta, dopo un colpo di fulmine in piena regola, anni di convivenza serena e la nascita del figlio Tommaso, sono in crisi. Eppure, il loro sembrava un amore in grado di mantenere le promesse: coetanei, belli e sani. Ma non è bastato. Quando Anna, che ha messo da parte le sue ambizioni per occuparsi del figlio, propone a Marco un trasferimento a Ibiza per ricominciare insieme un nuovo capitolo della loro vita, il marito rifiuta. Ma quando a Marco viene proposto un trasferimento di lavoro ad Amsterdam, lui inizia a pensarci. Intanto, Anna vorrebbe separarsi, Marco no, ma dal momento che hanno promesso a Tommaso un viaggio nella terra dei Vichinghi, decidono comunque di partire in camper per la Norvegia. Riuscirà Marco a riconquistare sua moglie di cui è ancora innamorato?

Una Giusta Causa è la storia vera di Ruth Bader Ginsburg, una delle nove donne che nel 1956 viene accettata al corso di legge dell’Università di Harvard, ma che, nonostante il suo talento, viene rifiutata da tutti gli studi legali proprio perché donna. Sostenuta dall’avvocato progressista Dorothy Kenyon, la donna apre un processo sul proprio controverso caso di discriminazione di genere. Nonostante il nutrito numero di oppositori, Ruth riesce a ottenere la sua vittoria in tribunale, creando con il processo un precedente nella storia legale statunitense. Il film è un tributo a Ruth Bader, seconda donna a essere nominata Giudice della Corte Costituzionale, nonché una delle figure più influenti del nostro tempo. Le lotte di Ruth per ottenere la parità dei sessi sul lavoro sono un invito, più attuale che mai, a ogni donna a non farsi sopraffare da una cultura maschilista in ogni campo.
