Dopo più di trent’anni di servizio nella Marina, il Tenente Pete “Maverick” Mitchell è proprio dove vorrebbe essere: un pilota coraggioso che può spingersi oltre ogni limite, cercando di schivare l’avanzamento di carriera che metterebbe un freno alla sua libertà. Francesco è un comico che mette il parmigiano ovunque e non fa ridere nessuno. L'unica che, alle sue battute pietose recitate in palcoscenico, scoppia in una risata è Francesca, e fra i due nasce un amore delicato e paradossale che dura per ben 15 settimane. Poi però Francesco ha la pessima idea di esibirsi in uno sketch che ha come oggetto di ridicolo proprio la sua ragazza, "colpevole" di avere qualche chilo in più: per la prima volta ridono tutti - tutti meno Francesca. La grande storia d'amore finisce, e Francesco non se ne fa una ragione: il suo destino di tonno spiaggiato rischia di rimanere tale per sempre. Per riconquistare la sua ormai ex ragazza questo quasi trentenne che va ancora in giro su una bicicletta con le rotelle dovrà inventarsi di tutto, fino al piano più assurdo: uccidere la zia di Francesca per poterne riabbracciare la nipote al funerale.

Nasa Yuzaki was preparing for his high school entrance exams one snowy night when he spots a beautiful girl on the other side of the road. Feeling somewhat drawn to her, he walks towards the girl and is severely injured after getting run over by a truck. Despite hanging on for dear life, Nasa still walks over to the girl and knowing this may indeed be his last chance, confesses his feelings for her. She replies, “I’ll go out with you if you marry me.” Nasa immediately agrees but then loses consciousness. A few years later, he keeps busy at his part-time job, believing they’ll be reunited again someday. One day, someone randomly shows up at his doorstep.
