Hanako è una sorta di spiritello noto come uno dei 7 misteri dell'Accademia Kamone. Secondo le voci, occupa il terzo bagno nei sanitari femminili del terzo piano del vecchio palazzo della scuola, e può avverare qualsiasi desiderio quando viene invocato purchè gli venga dato qualcosa in cambio. Un giorno come tanti, Nene Yashiro, una grande amante dell'occulto che sogna il grande amore, s'imbatte in Hanako, ma viene colta di sorpresa quando scopre si tratta di un ragazzo! Nene diventa la sua assistente iniziando così la sua avventura tra le varie leggende metropolitane che popolano la scuola.
