Here in 2023, Dan Frick (guitars/vocals), Kip Page (bass), Ian Holloway (guitars/vocals), and the recently acquired Lou Voutaritsas (drums) have not only a fiery 2020 debut "Heathens" to look back upon, but plenty of club and festival appearances just in 2022 as well. There can be little to no doubt that now is the perfect time to strike with a second release. And with sophomore effort "Divination", strike they do, somehow packing more force and velocity than their undeniably potent first release. Rather than unwisely heading into the shop and overhauling everything, the foursome knows they have something damn fine going on, and instead hit the streets for round two with a more finely tuned, yet meaner machine sporting some extra horsepower. While still drawing upon modern, groovin' stoner metal, late 60's biker rock, and gritty 70's hard rockin' outfits, the intensity/heavy meter is reading higher than ever. Created in 1965. They regularly performed in pubs and nightclubs in The Hague, performing rhythm and blues. The band caught the attention of the label "Polydor", which signed them to a contract. Their first single "Cry Me A River" (a cover of a Julie London song) reached #27 on the Top 40. After this success, the band members quit their jobs and focus solely on music. However, their second single "Can You Hear Me" did not bring them success. The group's third single "Something You Got" was recorded in September 1966 in London and reached the top of the Top 40 hit parade. Soon the group released their only album "I'll Follow You". The following year, drummer Henk van Meerbeek left the band and was replaced by Cesar Zuiderwijk (ex-"Ladybirds") and the band released a new single "Touchin' You Is Lovin' You". Then Fred de Wilde left the band to become the first (before Mariska Veres) vocalist of "Shocking Blue" and the band disbanded.     Lindisfarne - Radio Times: Live At The BBC 1971-1990 (8 CD) (2023) [44.1kHz/24bit] Country: UK Genre: Folk Rock Format: FLAC (*tracks) Quality: Lossless [44,1kHz/24 bit] Time: 08:50:16 Full Size: 5.87 GB Formed in the culturally distinct Tyneside area of England's North-East in 1968, Lindisfarne blended the mercurial songwriting talent of singer/guitarist Alan Hull with 'sweet and sour' harmonies, proud references to their homeland and a boozy, uplifting acoustic-rock swagger that won over the masses in Britain in the early 70s. Their first three albums - Nicely Out Of Tune (1971), Fog On The Tyne (1972) and Dingly Dell (1973) - all went Top 10, with Fog On The Tyne hitting No.1. Two singles also went Top 10 in the UK: 'Meet Me On The Corner' (written by bassist/violinist Rod Clements) and 'Lady Eleanor' (written by Hull). For three years, Lindisfarne shone brightly, creating a kind of folk-rock that was completely their own, with traditional music icing the visceral core of Alan Hull's socially and ecologically informed songcraft, like the Beatles with Bob Dylan, some mandolins and a crate of Newcastle Brown Ale. The band split in late 1973, with Hull and singer/mandolinist Ray Jackson forming Lindisfarne Mk II (1974-75). In 1978, on the back of hugely successful Christmas reunion concerts at Newcastle City Hall, Lindisfarne Mk I were reborn with a triumphant Top 10 single 'Run For Home'. The band continued, until Hull's untimely death in 1995. Rod Clements leads the current 50th anniversary touring incarnation, featuring Alan Hull's son-in-law Dave Hull-Denholm on vocals/guitar. In 2021, BBC4 broadcast the acclaimed documentary Lindisfarne's Geordie Genius: The Alan Hull Story, presented by Sam Fender. While several 1971-74 Lindisfarne BBC sessions were released on CD in 1998, this 8CD set not only adds substantially to the volume of material from that era but extends it to cover the 1978-90 reunion period.
