Honjou Kaede è invitata dalla sua amica Shiramine Risa a giocare con lei a un gioco MMO di realtà virtuale. Anche se a Kaede non piacciono i giochi, ciò che davvero non le piace è provare dolore. Crea un personaggio chiamato Maple e decide di mettere tutti i suoi punti in VIT per ridurre al minimo il dolore. Di conseguenza, si muove lentamente, non può usare la magia e persino un coniglio può ottenere il meglio di lei. Ma a quanto pare, acquisisce un'abilità nota come "Difesa assoluta" come risultato dei suoi punti di pompaggio in VIT, così come una "Contro abilità" che funziona contro mosse speciali.
